Abstract Horizontal wells with a slim hole (HW‐SH), characterized by high productivity, environmental protection, and low cost are gradually being introduced into oil gas extraction processes in high‐temperature high‐pressure formations. However, the HW‐SH annulus is narrow, distributions of temperature pressure wellbore very different from those conventional horizontal wells. Furthermore, mud properties change under influence pressure. In this study, numerical model transient temperature‐pressure coupling field an was developed based on performance tests mud, combined characteristics narrow HW‐SH.
